About the film.

Community Service is about two friends, Quentin and Fitch, who attend a seedy purgatory that lies between high school and a real university; community college.

Since everyone knows English and loves films, there are tons of screenplays floating around. Most of them bad, which is why studios, production companies, and agencies act as gatekeepers to their private club. I understand their position; there is no possible way for them to read through every unsolicited screenplay they come across, so they trash ‘em. Not to mention the legal barriers, intellectual property rights, and theft issues. The result? If you don’t have an agent  or someone to get you in the door, you’re going to be working as a waiter.

I’ve finished the screenplay, so this blog is about the journey of what happens next. I’ll be updating the blog as often as possible with tips on writing, marketing, and the entire process of taking this from an idea in my head to hopefully, a film that you’ll take your friends to see.
